WarningAll Council services can be accessed online, by telephone or by visiting our Reception in the Town Hall, Ingrave Road, Brentwood, Essex, CM15 8AY. There will be hand sanitiser in the Reception area. The Department of Work and Pensions and Citizens Advice Brentwood are also at the Town Hall and have their own arrangements.

Reception opening times

Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm (closed 12 to 1pm), except bank holidays.

Wedding ceremonies are held in the Town Hall. Essex Registration Service are located at Brentwood Library. Essex Police operate from the Town Hall, but there is no public access.

Visitor parking, including disabled parking, is available to the front of the Town Hall.

Out of hours or emergency contacts

Our out of hours service deals with emergency calls when the council offices are closed. An emergency is defined as events or incidents involving significant risk to life, limb or property. The service does not deal with general enquiries.

In the event of an emergency, call the number below that is relevant to the type of emergency that you wish to report:

Emergency Council service01277 312500 – This number is for emergencies related to council buildings and assets, flooding, dangerous structures, fire or accident damage in imminent danger of collapse onto a public place and any civil emergency.

Emergency Council housing repairs01277 312500 (select option 2) - This number must only be used in an emergency that is likely to be life threatening or cause serious injury to persons or significant damage to property. If it's unnecessary for the repair to be dealt with out of hours we would appreciate if you could call us the next working day.

If you use the emergency service for work that is not an emergency, you may be recharged for the full cost of the call out.

Examples of emergency repairs may include: burst water pipes, severe leaks, blocked drains and toilets (resulting in overflows which could be a public health hazard), total failure of central heating.

Noise pollution – Out of hour noise complaints are monitored on a planned basis. However, if you have a complaint regarding noise, fill out the online form, and it will be dealt with by the Environmental Health Team during normal working hours.

Stray dogs – Our Dog Warden service is available by calling 01277 312500, 08:30am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, and 08:30am to 4:30pm on Fridays.

Bee and wasp nest removal Responsibility lies with the owner or occupier of the premises or land on which the nest is present. You should contact a specialist pest control contractor. You can find a specialist in the Yellow Pages.
