You may be aware that the future of local government in Essex is currently under review, including here in Brentwood, where our council is currently navigating local government reorganisation. Ultimately, this means changes to who delivers your services, including the creation of new unitary authorities.

Nominations are now open for the Brentwood Borough Council and Rochford District Council 2025 Sports awards. The sports awards celebrate the achievements of athletes, coaches, volunteers and teams who have made significant contributions to sports in our community. 

Essex local authorities have written to the Secretary of State for Transport sharing their joint concern regarding the Government's recent decision to cancel the long-planned A12 widening scheme.

Tributes are being paid to Councillor Mark Reed who has sadly passed away.

Councillor Reed represented the Hutton South ward at Brentwood Borough Council since he was elected in 2009. Councillor Reed also proudly served as Mayor in 2015/2016 and Deputy Mayor in 2013/2014 and 2021/2022.

Brentwood Borough Council is joining forces with local partners as part of a nationwide campaign to tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB) and raise awareness of the support available to those affected. Brentwood Borough Council will introduce the MiPermit app, a digital pay-by-phone parking system, across all Council-owned car parks in the borough from Thursday 19 June.
