Brentwood Council joins national campaign to tackle Anti-Social Behaviour with Community Pop-Up Hub

Date

Brentwood Borough Council is joining forces with local partners as part of a nationwide campaign to tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB) and raise awareness of the support available to those affected. From Tuesday 1 July to Saturday 5 July, the Council will mark ASB Awareness Week with a dedicated pop-up hub in Brentwood town centre.

Open from 10:00am to 5:00pm on weekdays and from 10:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday, the hub will provide a welcoming space for residents to engage with local agencies, ask questions and learn more about how ASB is being addressed in the community. The initiative aims to promote community safety, encourage early intervention and offer direct support and advice to those impacted by ASB.

Visitors will have the opportunity to speak with representatives from Essex Fire & Rescue Service, Essex Police, Brentwood Connected, Brentwood Town Rangers, Estate Management Teams and Community Safety Officers. These agencies will be on hand throughout the week to listen to concerns, share information and work collaboratively with the public to build safer neighbourhoods.

Councillor Ben Rigby, Chair of the Brentwood Community Safety Partnership, said: “ASB Awareness Week is an opportunity for us to listen to our residents, share vital information, and work hand-in-hand to build safer, more inclusive communities. The Council and our partners are committed to tackling anti-social behaviour and supporting those affected. Although rates of antisocial behaviour in Brentwood are falling, participating in this national campaign strengthens the relationships that help us respond more effectively to community challenges.

"As we embark on a new Community Safety Strategy with the Police and other stakeholders, our long-term commitment is to reduce these rates by bringing people together to work hard to make our communities safer. I firmly believe that strong relationships build strong partnerships and create safer communities, as the bedrock of our Borough. If you’re experiencing anti-social behaviour, please report it through our website or, if you feel at immediate risk, directly to the Police. Whether you’re seeking support or want to learn more about the work being done, we invite you to visit the pop-up hub and speak with our team.”
