Brentwood's countryside management service is responsible for managing the Council's 26 countryside sites.
Volunteers carry out a variety of tasks including pond and woodland management, tree and hedge planting and public rights of way maintenance.
The Council manages two Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI’s), one Local Nature Reserve (LNR) and 9 Local Wildlife Sites (LoWS).
Brentwood has a network of 243km of public rights of way; a diverse series of footpaths, bridleways and byways.
Residents are invited to hear more about climate change, tree planting and carbon absorption from a panel of experts.
