VE Day

Thursday 8 May 2025

There will be a flag raising ceremony with the Mayor of Brentwood with invited groups outside the Town Hall to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day. 

Organisations, including Parish Councils, are encouraged to register VE Day events so that residents can see what is happening by visiting VE Day and VJ Day activities and events.

Strawberry Fair

Sunday 8 June, 12 to 6pm at King George's Playing Fields, CM13 2FD

This year's Strawberry Fair will commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE day. There will be a freedom march from the Town Hall, Brentwood to the entrance of King George’s Playing Fields via Seven Arches Road to start the event.

There will be a big top marquee with live music and walkabout acts throughout the day themed around VE day. There will also be stallholders, charity organisations, food and drink and sporting and health and wellbeing activities taking place throughout the day.

Stallholder and performers applications are now closed for this event.

Family Fun Days

Our Family Fun Days are back!

Brentwood Council and Brentwood Connected are bringing our Family Fun Days to our High Streets this year.

Join us for four actioned packed Family Fun Days this Summer taking place in two of our outreach parks and two in our local high streets. They are free to attend and will have lots of activities on offer such as rides, sports, crafts, Punch & Judy shows, health and wellbeing workshops and more.

  • Friday 1 August – Warley Playing Fields, CM13 3AZ
  • Wednesday 6 August – Brentwood High Street
  • Wednesday 20 August – Shenfield, Hutton Road
  • Friday 20 August – Hutton Recreation Ground, CM13 1LZ

Wristbands will be able to purchase on the Friday fundays for £5. You will not need a wristband for the High Street fun days. We're looking for local businesses, clubs and groups to promote yourself by putting on activities for families.

You can apply to be a stallholder for these events, and you will need to register for a MyBrentwood account and read the Terms and Conditions (PDF) before applying.
