Free support for Community Energy Projects in Brentwood

Date

Brentwood residents can now group together for a chance to access free expert support to lower energy bills, create local renewable energy projects and tackle fuel poverty - thanks to a new partnership between Brentwood Borough Council, Essex County Council and Community Energy Pathways.

This exciting opportunity gives people the tools and guidance to start or grow community energy projects. From installing solar panels, improving home energy efficiency, or helping neighbours struggling with heating costs, support is available to help turn your ideas into real impact.

Community Energy Pathways mentors are on hand to provide expert support at every stage of the journey. Whether helping established groups, such as Parish Councils, community centres, or residents’ associations, scale up their impact, or guiding individuals taking their first steps - mentors offer tailored advice and practical solutions. With their expertise, communities are empowered to transform ideas into sustainable actions.

Councillor David Worsfold, Chair of the Clean and Green Committee at Brentwood Borough Council, said: "Community Energy Pathways is a powerful way for residents to come together and take real action on climate change. We’re proud to support this initiative, which will give communities the tools, knowledge and confidence they need to make a lasting difference, not just for the environment, but for the health and well-being of residents too. If you’re already involved in community energy, have a project idea, or want to get started but don’t know how - this support is for you."

The scheme welcomes both established groups and individuals looking to form new ones.  If you want to be part of the community energy movement, let us know about your interest or project by completing the short form at: www.brentwood.gov.uk/EnergyPathway
