Consultation on our Draft Planning Obligations Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) has now closed. The consultation took place between 8 December 2022 to 19 January 2023.
Once adopted, the SPD will be used to inform planning applications to ensure the right amount and type of infrastructure is provided where it is needed, bringing wider benefits to the communities who live and work in the borough. It's intended for use by developers, landowners, infrastructure providers, stakeholders and local communities and will aid the consistent application of planning policies.
This draft SPD provides detailed advice on developer contributions, including the negotiation of Section 106 agreements and detailed considerations on a range of infrastructure, including affordable housing, transport, outdoor sport and open space. A key aim is to assist developers in making planning applications and to minimise planning delay and uncertainty.
The Draft Planning Obligations SPD is available to view below:
In accordance with Regulation 12 and 13 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012, we also prepared the below Consultation Statement.
