CIL Charging Schedule
The Charging Schedule sets out the types of developments liable for CIL, and the amount that will be charged per square metre of additional floorspace.
The Charging Schedule was adopted on 27 September 2023 at Ordinary Council, with an effective date of 15 January 2024.

CIL Instalment Policy
CIL payments become due upon the commencement of development. The Council has agreed an instalment policy to help developers pay CIL over an extended period of development.
The Instalment Policy was adopted on 27 September 2023 at Ordinary Council, with an effective date of 15 January 2024.

Annual CIL Rate Summary
CIL Collecting Authorities must apply an index of inflation to CIL rates, to keep them responsive to market conditions.
Regulation 121C of the CIL Regulations 2010 (as amended) states that each December, a charging authority must publish an Annual CIL Rate Summary in relation to the next calendar year. The Brentwood Annual CIL Rate Summary for 2024 document provided below gives further details and will be updated annually in December each year, in line with inflation.
