Residents to save a third on parking in Brentwood town centre
Brentwood Borough Council is pleased to announce that a discounted short-term parking scheme for residents, set up to support local traders, will be launched on 01 August 2010 in Brentwood town centre. The scheme, which will reduce parking costs for Brentwood residents by up to a third at the William Hunter Way car park, will include a discounted residents' parking permit which will be issued to all residents in the borough from 12 July 2010.
The discounted parking scheme will enable residents of the borough to purchase a pay and display ticket at a reduced price, provided they display a discounted residents’ parking permit. The scheme will allow all residents of the Borough to park for £0.30 less than non-residents when purchasing a pay and display ticket for up to two hours. Every resident will receive two permits and the discounted parking scheme will run at William Hunter Way car park as a pilot, and its success will be reviewed after six months.
Important Information for Customers in Residents' Parking Scheme
As from 1st August 2010, it will no longer be possible to obtain temporary visitors parking permits from the Town Hall.
Payment for replacement sheets can still be made at the Town Hall and the permits will be posted after processing by the parking services department. If there s an urgent need to obtain visitors permits customers are advised that they can visit the Parking Shop located in the Multi Storey car park in Coptfold road.
The Parking Shop is open from 10am to 3pm and we are able to take payment, and will on most occasions be able to issue the permits while you wait.
Please be advised that two sheets of visitor’s permits only can be issued at each application. Individual circumstances can be considered at time of application.
Multi-Storey Car Park
From 1st August, the multi-storey car park in Coptfold Road will no longer be open on Sunday. Alternative parking is available at Chatham Way (free), Town Hall (free) and William Hunter Way (pay & display).
