Recycling

WarningFrom Monday 13 March 2023, residents visiting Essex County Council (ECC) recycling centres will need to book in advance. A booking system will be trialled for all vehicles visiting ECC recycling centres to help manage waiting times, reduce congestion, and improve the customer experience.
  • Find out if an item will be collected by our kerbside service or can be taken to one of Essex County Council's Recycling Centres.

  • Enter your postcode and find out when your collection day is and what needs to go out each week.

  • Every other week, you will need to put out your blue recycling sack, containing paper and cardboard for recycling.

  • Every other week, you can use a brown bin or green sack to recycle your garden waste.

  • Every week, you will need to present your food caddy for collection, containing your household food waste for recycling.

  • Report a missed household waste or recycling collection.

  • Need another reusable recycling sack, food waste caddy or red box for glass?

  • Essex County Council is responsible for the operation of the two Recycling Centres for Household Waste (RCHW) in Brentwood.

  • Information and advice on recycling.

  • Every other week, you will need to put out your red box containing glass for recycling.

  • The most important way to reduce rubbish is to create less in the first place.

  • We can arrange to deliver educational classroom talks and interactive activities to promote the key themes of Reduce, Reuse and Recycling.

  • Brentwood Borough Council is working in partnership with Essex Textiles to reduce the amount of textiles that go to landfill.

  • Every other week, you will need to put out your white recycling sack, containing cans and plastic for recycling.
