Hartswood golf course
Set in a beautiful parkland in King George’s Playing Fields in the heart of Brentwood, the par 70 municipal golf course is one of the finest in the South East of England.
There are toilets on site and a new café offering hot and cold food and drinks. For free onsite parking, register your car in the Discount Golf Store shop when collecting your score card.
Hartswood Golf Course has launched an online booking system for the first time, for members and visitors. The system allows golfers to book tee times in advance on the Intelligent Golf website or through the app, available for iPhone and Android.
Hartswood Golf Club members and Annual season ticket holders can book 14 days in advance. Visitors can access the online booking system and book 7 days in advance.
You can also book tee times in advance online calling 01277 214830 or visiting the Discount Golf Store Shop. Only card or contactless payments will be accepted.
Annual season tickets
For regular players, the annual season ticket offers unlimited golf. Seven day tickets allow play Monday to Sunday, subject to course closures, and the five day ticket allows play Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays).
You can apply for or renew a season ticket online.
You can also get a paper application form from the starters hut adjacent to the golf shop. Once your application has been received, payment will be issued using the new intelligent golf booking system where you can make an online payment, or you can send a cheque made payable to ‘Brentwood Borough Council’ with your completed application form. If you need help with your payment, you can call the contact centre on 01277 312500 (select option 2).
You should allow up to seven working days for applications to be processed. You will receive an email or letter confirmation of a renewal.
For golfers interested in joining the resident Hartswood Golf Club, members will receive a 10% discount off annual season tickets. For more information, call the Club Secretary on 01277 218850.

*Concessionary rates apply to juniors under 17 years of age and for anyone aged 65 and over. Proof of age is required for concessionary rates and for the seven day intermediate season ticket for under 25s.
Discount Golf Store & tee time bookings
Discount Golf Store located on site, offers a range of clothing and equipment, as well as private lessons and advice.
The shop is open from 7:30am to 6:30pm during the summer, to take tee time bookings and register players. Starters are on site at the first tee until 6pm for twilight players (earlier in winter).
Tee off times are in seven minute intervals and run from 07:35am to 6pm in the summer months.
Golf buggies
To ensure that anyone with limited physical ability can continue to safely play a round of golf using a golf buggy, there is now the option to play 9 holes twice - holes 1 and 2 then 12 to 18, which are on the park side of The Avenue. This will be subject to teeing off availability and with prior agreement with the golf shop. For more information, view our buggy policy (PDF).
Course etiquette
You shouldn't lift or touch any of the flags on the course. Ball washers and bunker rates are not available.
All age groups are encouraged to play at Hartswood but for safety reasons, players under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a paying adult when crossing The Avenue to play holes 3 to 11.

Loyalty card
Pay for ten rounds of golf and get the eleventh free. Collect your loyalty card from the golf shop before your round. It includes concessionary day rates, but it cannot be used in conjunction with twilight play.
Group bookings
For group bookings of 20 people or more, each person receives 25% off green fees. This offer is not available in conjunction with any other offer and can be withdrawn at any time.
