New reception opens in the Town Hall
The new reception area opened at the refurbished Brentwood Town Hall on Monday, September 2.
The larger, open plan area incorporates sitting and standing areas, ipad stations for online access together with a traditional reception desk.
Located centrally from the front of the building, a new landscaped area to the steps and ramp to enable all ability access.
Council reception staff oversaw a smooth transition from the temporary Seven Arches Road reception area, to the new location, in time for the council to open for business at 8.30.
Leader, Cllr Chris Hossack who was there as the doors opened said; “Our first resident arrived needing advice and the reception area was up and running and ready to welcome them. Our Customer Assistance Team do a great job and this new open reception is brighter, lighter and just much better for people to come to, and get the information and help they need. We are on schedule with our plans for the Town Hall and further areas of the building will now start coming on line, but the public reception area is now open for business and we look forward to shortly receiving other organisations such as the DWP to truly make this a one stop shop community hub.”
Council officers are moving back into the Town Hall building over the coming weeks as part of a staggered move from off site locations. Residential apartments at the top of the building have already been let out to provide income, and high quality commercial space is also available for Brentwood businesses to use.
