Date: 27 November 2017
Come and continue the festive celebrations with us at Shenfield Christmas Fayre on Sunday 3rd December.
Local businesses have been working with Brentwood Borough Council to deliver the event, between 12pm and 5pm, where Hutton Road will be filled with a variety of entertainment and festive fun for all the family.
Visitors will be able to skate on the synthetic ice rink, sponsored by Pinney Talfourd Solicitors & Phoenix Security, and have their family photo taken in the ever-popular Snowglobe, sponsored by Mullis and Peake Solicitors.
For shoppers, there will be an array of stalls, selling local food and drink, crafts and Christmas gifts, whilst the children can visit Father Christmas in his OnaPlate grotto, or take a turn on some small fun fair rides.
Entertainment for the event will include street performances from the entertaining Balloonatic Elves that will be creating some hilarious balloon figures and Bridie the Tea Lady who is 8ft tall and dances with her cake laden 7ft tea trolley!
The stage, hosted by Woody Woodhouse a local Shenfield resident with a programme scheduled by Churches Together in Hutton, will feature performances from local schools, choirs and singers and there will be fun activities in many Hutton Road businesses, such as face painting and Christmas games to get visitors in the festive mood!
Brentwood Borough Council's Chair of the Community, Health and Housing Committee, Councillor Chris Hossack, said: "We are looking forward to starting off the Christmas season in Shenfield again this year with the Christmas Fayre. We have got lots of activities planned around Hutton Road for families to enjoy from street performers to the fantastic entertainment planned for the stage – there will be something for everyone!”
Residents and visitors should be aware that on Sunday 3rd December Hutton Road will be closed from 9am – 7.30pm from Shenfield Station to the roundabout at Shenfield Parish Hall, as well as the junction of Friar's Avenue at Shenfield Library, with limited access to residents on surrounding roads. There will be a one-way system in place along Hutton Road from the roundabout at Shenfield Parish Hall to Shenfield Road, where cars will be diverted from Shenfield Road, down Worrin Road and then York Road. There will still be access to York Close and Ye Olde Green Dragon car park. Diversion routes will be in place through Priests Lane. Residents and visitors are asked not to park on Hutton Road over night from 2nd December.
