Brentwood Centre

The Brentwood Centre is following the government road map on Monday 29 March 2021 and is a phased re-opening so not all facilities or activities are initially available. Customers are encouraged to wear face masks when in the communal areas of the building. Please note that currently only card payments can be accepted.

Please note: From Monday 29 March the 3G pitch and beach volleyball court will be open, alongside with outdoor group exercise classes in the self-contained garden area (weather permitting).

From Monday 12 April, step 2 of the Governments Roadmap permits us to open the gym (on own or with household), the swimming pool (on own or with household), under 18s swimming lessons and parent child classes.

On Monday 17 May, we can open to indoor adult sport, group fitness classes and adult swimming lessons.

Step 4 on 21 June is the possible removal of legal limits on social distancing.

This is subject to change.

If you have a query regarding memberships or activities and events, please visit our Frequently Asked Questions page for further information.

Please be advised that due to COVID restrictions in place activities available will be limited.

The reception area, pool, changing rooms and main hall have all been inspected and are now fit for purpose with the necessary COVID-19 requirements for social distancing in place. The Council are continuing to review health and safety works at the centre which will inform the timeline for the further opening of the remainder of the building under Phase 2.

Community Halls

Part of the Phase 2 of the re-opening of the leisure facilities will be to get the Community Halls re-opened, however due to national lockdown restrictions they will remain closed until further notice. This will be reviewed regularly and will be subject to the latest Government guidance.

The Council need to ensure that all of the Community Halls are COVID compliant which means that there will be a maximum capacity allowed in each of the halls or rooms within some of the settings. The Council is working with Health and Safety colleagues to determine this and also finalise the booking mechanism to be in place for the hirers of the Community Halls. The Council will also require a COVID risk assessment from the hirer in relation to their booking.

Further information on how to book will follow and this webpage will be regularly updated.
