The Town Hall reception is currently closed and viewing of the ceremony room is therefore suspended until further notice. Please check our Coronavirus web page for further updates.
In order to maintain social distancing and comply with Government guidance the maximum number of people permitted to attend a wedding within the Town Hall is 12 until further notice. This includes the couple, two registrars, 2 witnesses and any professionals in attendance such as photographers. Guests will need to sign in on arrival for test and trace purposes and adhere to social distancing guidelines whilst using the hand sanitiser stations provided.
Government Guidance on Weddings valid as of 31 July 2020
Will the guests, register, bride, groom, or civil partners need to wear a face covering?
Face coverings will have to be worn in places of worship. This also applies to guests at weddings and civil partnerships including those taking place in registry offices or other approved venues, this includes Brentwood Town Hall. Face coverings do not have to be worn by the bride, groom, or civil partners. The celebrant, registrar or religious leader does not have to either but may choose to.
After the ceremony
Due to the current restrictions and the need to socially distance the wedding party should arrive at the allotted time and vacate the building directly after the ceremony has completed. Party’s are asked not to congregate around the green entrance doors either before or after a ceremony and to locate themselves further away from the building to avoid coming into contact with others entering and exiting the Town Hall.
