Renting a Garage
The Council has a limited supply of garages for rent and these are often in great demand. If you would like to go on the garage waiting list, please complete the Garage Rental Application Form.
Priority is given to those who live in close proximity to the garage for rent. Should supply outweigh demand, we will rent to those tenants who live further away and non-Council tenants.
Whilst a tenant has rent arrears or owes other debts to the Council, a garage will not be offered until all debts are cleared.
This is the easiest and simplest way to pay. To set up a direct debit please complete our Direct Debit form. You will need to enter your rent reference number and bank details.
Ending your garage tenancy
If you wish to end your garage tenancy you should complete the Termination of Garage Tenancy Form.
You should give at least two weeks' notice, after which you must hand back your keys to the Town Hall, Ingrave Road, Brentwood, Essex CM15 8AY. You should also ensure that the garage is cleared of all your personal effects and left in good order. If a termination form is not completed the Council will be unable to terminate your tenancy and you will still be responsible for rent payments.
Garage Rent Arrears
The Council do not allow payment arrangements on garages. Any rent arrears must be paid in full otherwise the Council will serve a Notice To Quit to formally end your garage tenancy.
