Brentwood Borough Council’s Chair of the Environment and Enforcement Committee, Councillor Keith Parker, said: “Over the Christmas period we accumulate a lot of things like Christmas cards, crackers, sweet and biscuit tins, cardboard boxes, glass bottles and wrapping paper. All of these can be recycled and will reduce the amount that goes to landfill.
Your real Christmas trees can be composted by placing them out for collection on your garden waste collection day kerbside alongside your waste and recycling from January 8.
Do also take the opportunity to stock up recycling sacks if you are running low.”
