Press Release

Festive fun at Shenfield Christmas Fayre

Date: 4 December 2017

The spirit of Christmas came to Shenfield on Sunday 3rd December with a day filled with festive fun.

The Shenfield Christmas Fayre had a variety of entertainment and fun for all the family along Hutton Road. Visitors got their skates on on the synthetic ice rink, sponsored by Pinney Talfourd Solicitors & Phoenix Security, and had their family photo taken in the popular Snowglobe, sponsored by Mullis and Peake Solicitors.

And there was an array of stalls selling Christmas gifts, crafts, local food and drink as well as an Italian market. Children could visit Father Christmas in his OnaPlate grotto and go on the small fun fair rides.

There was some fantastic entertainment at the event from the Balloonatic Elves who created some hilarious balloon figures and 8ft tall Brydie the Tea Lady who danced with her cake-laden tea trolley!

The stage was hosted by Woody Woodhouse a local Shenfield resident with a packed performance programme scheduled by Churches Together in Hutton and Shenfield. It featured performances from local schools including Willowbrook School, Hutton All Saints Primary, St Mary’s Primary, Long Ridings School and Shenfield High School. There were performances from choirs and singers, including the Grace Gospel Choir, Razzamataz, The Big Sing, Stuck in the Middle, Sean Muir, Ashton Russell and girl band D’Luxe.

There were also activities in many Hutton Road businesses, including face painting and Christmas games.

Mayor of Brentwood, Councillor Will Russell, said: “Shenfield Christmas Fayre had a great atmosphere, with lots to see and do. There were some great performers on the stage who helped everyone get in the festive mood, and I joined Churches Together Hutton and Shenfield to sing Christmas carols to close the event. I enjoyed the street performers and had a go ringing the bell on the test your strength game.

We are extremely grateful for the support of local businesses in helping make this event happen. Thanks must also go to our sponsors Mullis and Peake LLP, Pinney Talfourd Solicitors, Phoenix Security, and Fire Delay Contractors Ltd for their invaluable support.”
