Funding has been made available that will allow 12 local businesses to claim £1,000 towards funding an apprentice.
Brentwood Borough Council is committed to the growth and development of apprenticeships throughout the Borough for the benefit of employers and young people.
The Brentwood Apprentice programme has been developed in partnership with ACL and Essex County Council to support and encourage employers when recruiting an apprentice.
Chair of the Policy, Finance and Resources Committee and Leader of Brentwood Borough Council Cllr Louise McKinlay said: “Apprenticeships play such an important part in offering opportunities both to those looking for a new career or youngsters starting their working life in a way that supports them, trains them, and lets them work locally. Over time they develop their skills, make a considerable contribution to companies and all of that in turn supports the local economy and Brentwood community.”
Businesses can apply via the council website and following the link to Apprenticeships. Cllr McKinlay added: “I hope that once Brentwood businesses have been awarded this funding that we will have the chance to meet the next generation of apprentices and encourage them in their endeavours.”
