The Sustainable Community Strategy: Produced by The Brentwood Local Strategic Partnership, this brings together a number of different groups and is made up of key partners, including Brentwood Borough Council, Essex County Council, Essex Police, Essex Fire & Rescue, South West Essex NHS, Community & Voluntary Services, Parish Council Representative and the Chamber of Commerce.
The Essex Strategy: This is the countywide Sustainable Community Strategy which aims to steer partnership action across geographical tiers. The strategy covers a ten year period, 2008-2018, and has been compiled from the views of Essex People and shows a vision of the sustainable development of Essex into the medium term.
The Essex Local Area Agreement: This is a three year agreement from 2008-20011 made between Government and the Essex Partnership of public, private and third sector organisations. The agreement focuses on activities of the sectors and the needs of identified groups of service users and residents. It brings better value for money by channeling funds from different public organisations towards shared priorities and targets.
The Local Development Framework: This is a collection of planning documents that sets out policies to guide decisions on development, land use, and land allocations in the Borough to 2031. When complete, it will replace the current Local Plan adopted in 2005. The most important part of the Local Development Framework is the Core Strategy. Following the joint consultation on the Sustainable Community Strategy and Core Strategy the Council is preparing a draft Core Strategy for public consultation later in 2010.
