Household Waste Collection
All bagged household waste must only be placed out for collection on the designated collection day and left on the kerbside at the front of the property or we will assume you do not need a collection.
Residents who are unable to comply, can apply for an assisted service. The criteria for claiming is as follows: Housebound and/or Elderly or infirm which prevents you from placing your refuse and recyclables on the kerbside and there is no other able bodied person living at home with you. Please telephone 01277 312670/312669/312682
All domestic household properties in the Brentwood area receive a weekly refuse pick up. To find your Refuse Collection Day refer to the Street Index in the 'little green guide' or use the refuse/recycling collection day finder
Where to place your refuse for collection
Your household waste needs to be placed out for collection on the specified day.
Refuse must be available from 7.30am (collection times may vary)
Refuse must be left on the kerbside at the front of your property or we will assume you do not need a collection.
Wheelie bins: If you use a wheelie bin for your household waste only please use a standard sized refuse sack to contain your waste (do not use carrier bags or wheelie bin liners). Refuse collectors do not move or tip bins, but lift out bagged waste. Should you wish to have your wheelie bin mechanically tipped, please send a letter of permission to the Council absolving the Council of any responsibility for damage to the wheelie bins whilst being emptied.
Please Note: Glass must be presented in the red box provided, other dry recyclables must be presented in the orange sack provided, garden material must be presented in the biodegradable sacks provided or in the Council's leased garden waste container.
