Door Chain Project

Do you feel safe answering your door? Would you like that extra bit of security?

Whilst Brentwood is one of the safest boroughs in Essex.  Brentwood Borough Council and Safer Brentwood, with the help of MenShed are launching a new project aimed at elderly and vulnerable residents.  We have been awarded funding from the Police & Crime Commissioner to install door chains into homes for FREE.

The primary aim of the project is to make the most vulnerable residents of Brentwood feel safer in their homes.

If you would like to be considered for this project and have a door chain fitted for free, please download the Door Chain application form and send to Daniel Cannon, Community Safety, Brentwood Borough Council, Town Hall, Ingrave Road, Brentwood CM15 8AY or email to daniel.cannon@brentwood.gov.uk. Once we have received the form, you will be notified within 10 working days if your application has been successful. You will then be contacted by a MenShed volunteer who will arrange a suitable date and time for the door chain to be installed at your property.  All volunteers will have undergone appropriate vetting.
