Improving Your Estate

Estate InspectionsA closer look

We have now been carrying out regular inspections of our estates for over a year. These inspections have been valuable in identifying areas for improvement and dealing with any issues in a timely manner.

The sites which we have been inspecting to date are those that have communal areas, receive caretaking and cleaning services, plus maintenance to the outside grassed and shrub areas. We will now be expanding our inspections out to all maisonette blocks that have any communal walkways or balconies. This will mean that any gates, refuse, or items being stored in these areas will be requested for removal. As a result of this increase of inspections all blocks with communal areas are now being inspected.

It is good practice to regularly inspect and rate the condition of where you live. Noting the condition of your estate with regards to the cleanliness and maintenance, and to ensure that outstanding repairs are identified and chased up. It also enables us to pick up on any health and safety issues and address these.

We want to improve the service you receive and welcome your input in rating our estates. Taking note of customers’ impression of our services and looking at ways to improve your home and environment is very important.

All residents are welcome to come along and meet with the Housing Officer and Caretaker carrying out the inspection, and go around and inspect your block or estate, and help us rate the condition. The new schedule is now available to view and will advise you of the upcoming dates and locations where the inspections will start, and move from block to block. All inspections will start at 9.30am at the first location listed and move on from there.

If you are unable to attend the inspections but have an interest in keeping us up to date on the status of your block and ensure it is maintained to a good standard, why not become a block champion and nominate yourself for this role? For more information see Tenant Participation - How to get involved.
