Trade Waste

Tyres in a heapDuty of Care

The law clearly states that all commercial waste must be kept and handled in a safe manner and be treated prior to land-filling. If a business breaks the law, the fine can be an unlimited amount.

Brentwood Borough Council's Trade Waste Collection Service

The Council offers a competitive service for the removal of commercial waste. We pride ourselves on the excellent service we offer. A clear advantage over our national competitors is the ability to respond quickly to the needs of our local customers. There are no hidden charges with our rates, such as extra costs for waste transfer notes or administration, nor are you tied into lengthy contracts.

We offer a variety of receptacles ranging from sacks to 1100 litre containers.

For further details and to arrange a visit please use the Trade Waste and Recycling Enquiry Form.

Dry Recyclables

We operate a dry recyclables collection scheme for paper, cardboard, cans and plastics.

This is an attractive service for those businesses that wish to reduce their costs - over 20% saving against the costs of collection of residual trade waste - as well as to promote an environmental policy within their organisation.

For further details and to arrange a visit please use the Trade Waste and Recycling Enquiry Form.

Trade Waste Recycling

How would you like to save up to 4% of your turnover?  Reducing waste could result in your company becoming more profitable.

In addition to improving profits you will also embrace a corporate social responsibility. By adopting measures which contribute to the basic 3 Rs: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle your waste, you are helping to improve the environment locally and globally.

Every business has a Duty of Care with regard to controlled waste, and must ensure that waste is contained safely and that it is only transferred to an authorised waste carrier. In addition, a Transfer Note must be kept of this transaction, for a minimum of two years.  The waste scenario becomes even more complex if you produce hazardous waste, as new regulations impose a new set of criteria which will enhance the control of hazardous waste.

The Council is committed to encouraging waste minimisation and the trade waste service run by the Council helps to promote this issue by offering a dry recyclable collection service for customers, which is at least 20% cheaper than the collection and disposal costs for residual trade waste.

For further details and to arrange a visit please use the Trade Waste and Recycling Enquiry Form.

Remember, waste is not rubbish, it's a valuable commodity.
