Parish Council Elections

Elections to Parish Councils are scheduled every four years but only take place if the number of candidates nominated in each parish is greater than the number of vacant seats.

Seven parishes were due to hold elections in 2019 but in all cases, the number of candidates nominated was not greater than the number of vacant seats. The candidates were therefore elected unopposed.

The following parishes are due to hold elections in 2020:

  • Blackmore, Hook End and Wyatts Green
  • Doddinghurst

From time to time, casual vacancies can occur on Parish Councils. These can be filled by a process of co-option if no election is called. Find out more by contacting your Parish Clerk.
