Winter Plan

The Local Winter Maintenance Plan for Brentwood has been developed to ‘keep the borough moving’ during adverse weather conditions.

Updates will be made on this website to keep you informed during any winter weather.

Highways (Essex County Council)
Essex County Council (ECC) are responsible for gritting more than 1800 miles of the county’s main roads during winter weather.  The routes that are gritted by the County’s contractor in Brentwood (known as the precautionary network) include all the major routes – A and B classified roads, all bus routes and roads to Fire, Ambulance and Police stations. The majority of A and B roads are main roads but some residential roads are included.

Check which roads will be gritted and get the latest advice on safe winter travel.

Priority Footways (Brentwood Borough Council)
