LadderBrentwood Borough Council, through the Environmental Health Service, seeks to ensure that private residential properties are brought up to an acceptable standard for habitation.

Grants may be available towards the cost of improving unfit housing stock or for adaptations for disabled people. There are also schemes to promote energy efficiency improvements.  You can find out more about the grants and schemes available here:

A home improvement agency has been established in partnership with Papworth Trust. The Service will assist elderly and/or disabled home owners to improve, repair or adapt their houses. Further information can be found here:

A copy of the Council's strategy documents on housing renewal (including grant policy) and tackling fuel poverty can be downloaded by following the link below.
