Request

How many children have been taken from their parents by social services in each of the last five years where over-feeding was sited as a reason?
If available, please include the sex of each child and the weight of the child at the point of being taken in to care.

How many children under-16 within the authority's administrative boundary have been recorded as weighing 16 stone or more in the last three years? How many children have been recorded as weighing 20 stone or more in the last three years?

1. the number of children under 16 who have been taken into local authority care, with overfeeding, obesity or any other similar reason to do with weight and nutrition given as the reason, in 2010/11, 2011/12 and 2012/13.

Please break these figures down by year and sex, so that it is possible to see how many children of each sex have been taken into care for each of those financial years for these reasons.

2. If possible, please also provide the weights of any children who were taken into care at the time when the local authority intervened, as well as the financial year in which this occurred.

3. The number of children who were recorded as weighing 16 stone or more in 2010/11, 2011/12 and 2012/13.
