Fly-tipping

Request

My request concerns the number of fly-tipping incidents in the Brentwood borough.

Specifically:

How many incidents of fly tipping has the council dealt with in Brentwood in the following years:
- 2012/13
- 2011/12
- 2010/11
- 2009/10

Can you break this down into:

- What these fly-tipping items included?
- What were the most common items of fly-tipping?
- And the top five most common places (streets and towns) for fly-tipping incidents?

Response

How many incidents of fly tipping has the council dealt with in Brentwood in the following years:
- 2012/13
- 2011/12
- 2010/11
- 2009/10

Please refer to attached data from National Fly-tipping Database for each of the requested years.

Can you break this down into:

- What these fly-tipping items included? Builders Waste, household disregarded furniture such as beds, settees, etc, tyres, bags of garden rubble, asbestos.

- What were the most common items of fly-tipping? The most common fly tip is builders waste.

- And the top five most common places (streets and towns) for fly-tipping incidents?
The most common places (not really a top five) are the 10 Council run bring sites (Council recycling centres) which are often abused by mainly builders waste, and the next common area for fly tips is the Navestock area, other than that the fly tips are in various places (usually more rural areas) throughout the Borough.
