Thank you for your Freedom of Information request regarding the calibration of the beam/headlamp testing equipment used for the purpose of Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Inspections between Jan 2001 until Jan 2013. It should be noted that the Council, as part of its document retention policy, will only keep records for six years, therefore the information you have requested will only be provided for this period. Please find response to each point below:-
1. Please provide the purchase date(s), manufacturers’ details, model numbers and serial numbers of beam/headlamp testing equipment used for the purpose of Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle inspections at the Councils Warley Depot from Jan 2001 until Jan 2013 – The equipment in question was purchased in November 2006. The Manufacturer details are Sealey (id 2425) – the model/serial number has worn off so unable to provide this information.
2. Please provide copies all documentation including invoices and calibration certificates that relate to charges for periodic calibration and testing of the beam/headlamp testing equipment at the Council’s Warley Depot from January 2001 until January 2013 – Please find attached copies of calibration certificates and invoices from 2009, and as noted in para 1, we only retain documents for six years.
3. Please confirm which company was responsible for maintenance and calibration of the beam/headlamp testing equipment a the Council’s Warley Depot from January 2001 until January 2013 – The company used for the maintenance during the stated period was “Taylor Engineering – G. T Garage Equipment”
4. Please supply copies of any maintenance agreements (or contracts) pertaining to the beam/headlamp testing equipment or any agreement (or contracts) for the periodic calibration of this equipment at the Council’s Warley Depot from January 2001 until January 2013 – There is no formal Service Level Agreement in place with Taylor Engineering, it has been an on-going agreement which copies of documentation attached demonstrate.
