Request

I would be grateful if you could provide me with the following pieces of informat ion under the Freedom of Information Act.

1.     Revenues collection

a.     Does the Local Authority run its revenues collection function as an in-house service, or is this function outsourced to a 3rd party?

b.    If it is outsourced to a third party, who is it?

c.     Approximately how many FTE d o you typically have working within the Local Authority’s revenues collection function?  (FTE is defined as the number of “Full Time Equivalent” staff members. For example, if there are two members of staff, one of whom works full-time and one of whom works half-time, their combined FTE figure would be 1.5 )

2.     Benefits provision

a.     Does the Local Authority run its benefits provision function as an in-house service, or is this function outsourced to a 3rd party?

b.    If it is outsourced to a third party, who is it?

c.     Approximately how many FTE do you typically have working within the Local Authority’s benefits provision function? 

3.   What is the Local Authority’s approximate annual expenditure on the revenue and benefits function?  (Note: Please only include the administration cost and exclude the actual monetary value of revenues collected and benefits issued)

I am replying to your emails of 25 May 2012 and 1 June 2012, which are acknowledged as requests for information held by this authority under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act.

The answers to the questions in your first email are as follows:

1) The revenue collections function is an in-house service. There are 7 FTE.
2) The benefits provision function is an in-house service. There are 9 FTE
3) The approximate annual expenditure is £1,413,000.

The answers to your second email are:-

1) There is no centralised customer contact centre.
2) Not applicable.
3) There is therefore no expenditure figure.
4) There is no CRM system in use.
