- The Council does not keep record of attendees at funerals/burials.

- When a Council funeral involves a burial the deceased is buried in an unmarked grave unless there is a specific mention of a headstone the deceased’s will and there are sufficient funds in the estate to provide such a memorial.

- If the deceased is cremated then the ashes are buried in an ashes plot in either London Road Cemetery or London Road Cemetery, the plot is allocated by Brentwood Borough Council.

- The Council does not currently have a policy on Public Health Funerals.

- The total number of burials undertaken was as follows:

2006/07 – 163 burials [full and ashes]

2007/08 – 146 burials [full and ashes]

2008/09 – 148 burials [full and ashes]

2009/10 – 134 burials [full and ashes]

2010/11 – 110 burials [full and ashes]

- There are currently approximately 1331 full burial plots available in Woodman Road Cemetery, none are available in London Road Cemetery. In terms of ashes there are 229 ashes plots available in the Borough, 75 plots in Woodman Road Cemetery and 154 plots in London Road Cemetery.
