Provision of Lone Worker Devices and Telecare Equipment

Request

I am writing to request the following information from you under the Freedom of Information Act regarding the provision of personal safety devices for both employees and those under the direct responsibility of your Local Authority.

My questions are split into two parts and are as follows:


1. Please confirm whether any employees in your council have lone worker protection devices.
2. If yes to question one, please provide the number of devices purchased.
3. Please provide the name of the company that you purchased the devices from.
4. Please provide the date the devices were purchased, the contract length and value.
5. Please provide the job titles of the persons who are / or would be responsible for lone worker protection in your Council.
6. Please list the name, address and contact details (phone, email) of this person.

Part two Council Telecare Services


7. Please confirm whether your council has purchased any panic buttons / alarms for those under your councils care (i.e. Telecare or telehealth).
8. If yes to question one, please provide the number of devices purchased.
9. Please provide the name of the company that you purchased the devices from.
10. Please provide the date the devices were purchased, the contract length and value.
11. Please provide the job titles of the persons who are / or would be responsible for telecare services in your Council.
12. Please list the name, address and contact details (phone, email) of this person.

Response

No.

Part two Council Telecare Services


7. Please confirm whether your council has purchased any panic buttons / alarms for those under your councils care (i.e. Telecare or telehealth).

Brentwood BC manages a Community Alarms Service, Brentwood BC supplies no direct “care” this would be through Essex County Council.

If we purchase panic buttons / Alarms we normally would go through the North Herts Consortium. All the councils sheltered stock currently has hard wired systems.

8. If yes to question one, please provide the number of devices purchased.

The CA service owns round 500 and additional 400 are provided (lease) through Essex Equipment stores. These are normally requested units through Social services or the NHS as part of a care package.

9. Please provide the name of the company that you purchased the devices from.

North Herts Consortium, normally Tunstall or Chubb units.

10. Please provide the date the devices were purchased, the contract length and value.

This is ongoing so as a when required (replacements, increase in numbers of clients. 2 year warranties come with the equipment from NHC.

Essex Equipments Stores deals with the equipment we install and monitor on behalf of them

11. Please provide the job titles of the persons who are / or would be responsible for telecare services in your Council.
