1) How many complaints the council has received in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.

2) How many complaints have been referred through to the Standards Committee or equivalent body regarding councillors or officers.

3) The names and positions of those against whom a complaint has been lodged.

4) The nature of the complaints.

5) The outcome of the complaint.

Thank you for your email request for information, dated 19th December 2011 and received on that date centrally.

May I firstly apologize for the delay in responding to this request and I have taken a while to access the archived data to support the information contained in this response.

The request you made was in relation to information contained within the Council’s complaints process and your requests were as follows:

1) How many complaints the council has received in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.

The Council has a complaints process which logs formal complaints for the whole of the Council it accounts for these on an annual basis from 1st April to 31st March.
The results for the years you mentioned are as follows:

1/4/2006 – 31/3/2007 60
1/4/2007 – 31/3/2008 39
1/4/2008 – 31/3/2009 55
1/4/2009 – 31/3/2010 48
1/4/2010 – 31/3/2011 53
1/4/2011 – 31/3/2012 56 (so far)

2) How many complaints have been referred through to the Standards Committee or equivalent body regarding councillors or officers.

No complaints have been referred through to the standards committee or equivalent body through that process regarding Councillors or Officers

3) The names and positions of those against whom a complaint has been lodged.
