I am responding to your information request relating to the proportion of new homes planned for Dunton Hills Garden Village to be built to comply with the requirements of Building Regulation category M4(2) and M4(3).
At present it's too early in the plan-making process to say. Work is currently being undertaken to prepare a new Local Plan for the Borough which will contain reference to Building Regulation category M4(2) and M4(3) within its housing policies.
Recognising the need for adaptable and accessible homes over the lifetime of the Plan, Draft Policy 7.2, of the Brentwood Draft Local Plan (2016) seeks to secure from developments of 20 or more dwellings a minimum of 5% of new housing built to the requirements of Building Regulations M4(2) or M4(3). Following consultation on the Draft Local Plan last year, emerging policies are now in the process of review and are subject to further amendment and consultation prior to adoption.
