Temporary Accommodation

IPlease can you send me answers to the following 4 questions:


For each financial year since 2011 (i.e. for the past 5 financial years):

1) What was the total spend on/gross cost of placing people in Temporary Accommodation?

NB: I would like the answer to be broken down into annual figures for each financial year since 2011: 2011-2012; 2012-2013; 2013-2014; 2014-2015
and 2015-up to and including 29/03/16).

2) How many weeks-worth of Temporary Accommodation was purchased?

NB: I would like the answer to be broken down into annual figures for each financial year since 2011: 2011-2012; 2012-2013; 2013-2014; 2014-2015
and 2015-up to and including 29/03/16).

3) How much of the total spend on/gross cost of placing people in Temporary Accommodation was met by Central Government?

NB: I would like the answer to be broken down into annual figures for each financial year since 2011: 2011-2012; 2012-2013; 2013-2014; 2014-2015
and 2015-up to and including 29/03/16).

4) How much of the total spend on/gross cost of placing people in Temporary Accommodation was met by the Local Authority?

NB: I would like the answer to be broken down into annual figures for each financial year since 2011: 2011-2012; 2012-2013; 2013-2014; 2014-2015
and 2015-up to and including 29/03/16).

In response to your FOI request, I can confirm the following;

1) What was the total spend on/gross cost of placing people in Temporary Accommodation?

NB: I would like the answer to be broken down into annual figures for each financial year since 2011: 2011-2012; 2012-2013; 2013-2014; 2014-2015
and 2015-up to and including 29/03/16).

2011/12 £17,283.16
2012/13 £27,545.24
2013/14 £66,177.95
2014/15 £125,112.69
2015/16 £191,225.31

2) How many weeks-worth of Temporary Accommodation was purchased?

NB: I would like the answer to be broken down into annual figures for each financial year since 2011: 2011-2012; 2012-2013; 2013-2014; 2014-2015
and 2015-up to and including 29/03/16).

In accordance with our Information Requests Charging Policy, and in accordance with the Fee Regulations set by Central Government, the Council is not obliged to respond to a written request for information, where it estimates that the cost of complying with the request would be in excess of £450 (which equates to 18 hours of work at £25 per hour).

Section 12 of the FOI Act allows the Council to refuse to deal with a request where it estimates that it would exceed the appropriate limit (£450). Therefore the Council refuses to provide information in this case.

The information is not held for the above question, and would mean looking through all past invoices for the totals.


3) How much of the total spend on/gross cost of placing people in Temporary Accommodation was met by Central Government?

NB: I would like the answer to be broken down into annual figures for each financial year since 2011: 2011-2012; 2012-2013; 2013-2014; 2014-2015
and 2015-up to and including 29/03/16).

The below figures are the benefit payments made for those in temporary accommodation

4) How much of the total spend on/gross cost of placing people in Temporary Accommodation was met by the Local Authority?
