Electoral registration

Request

Freedom of Information request - information pertaining to efforts to improve electoral registration, Brentwood Borough Council.

In accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I request that Brentwood Borough Council send me the following information:


(a) the number of distinct residential properties (hereafter, dwellings) currently listed on the Local Land and Property Gazetteer in the area covered by the authority;

(b) the number of distinct dwellings within which there are electors resident on the electoral register currently in force for the area covered by the authority;

(c) the total amount of money the authority and its electoral registration officer plan to disburse (including funds from both central and local government) to promote electoral registration in the area covered by Brentwood Borough Council between 7 May 2015 and 30 November 2015;

(d) the total number of electors, of all electoral franchises, on the electoral register for Brentwood Borough Council as at:

(i) 7 May 2015, and

(ii) today;

(e) the total number of electors, of all electoral franchises, on the electoral register for Brentwood Borough Council, and who have either been successfully datamatched as part of the transition to individual electoral registration, or have individually registered or re-registered since individual electoral registration began, as at

(i) 7 May 2015, and

(ii) today;

In respect of (a), (b), (d) and (e) above, I would be very grateful if as well as providing the data for the council area as a whole, you could also provide it for each Westminster Parliamentary Constituency wholly or partly within the area of the authority.


If you are no longer the right person, or this is no longer the right address, to whom or to which Freedom of Information Requests in respect of Brentwood Borough Council should be sent, I would be very grateful if you could forward this email on to the correct person or mailbox.

If this request is denied in whole or in part, I ask that you justify any omissions by reference to specific exemptions of the Act.


If the total cost of addressing this request would exceed the threshold, then I should be grateful if you could address merely points (a) and (b).


I reserve the right to appeal against any decision on your part to withhold any part of the information requested.

(c) the total amount of money the authority and its electoral registration officer plan to disburse (including funds from both central and local government) to promote electoral registration in the area covered by Brentwood Borough Council between 7 May 2015 and 30 November 2015; (tbc)

(d) the total number of electors, of all electoral franchises, on the electoral register for Brentwood Borough Council as at:

(i) 7 May 2015, (58757) and

(ii) today;(58973)

(e) the total number of electors, of all electoral franchises, on the electoral register for Brentwood Borough Council, and who have either been successfully datamatched as part of the transition to individual electoral registration, or have individually registered or re-registered since individual electoral registration began, as at

(i) 7 May 2015,(58238) and

(ii) today;(58700)

In respect of (a), (b), (d) and (e) above, I would be very grateful if as well as providing the data for the council area as a whole, you could also provide it for each Westminster Parliamentary Constituency wholly or partly within the area of the authority.(answers above refer to the Brentwood part of Brentwood & Ongar Constituency.
