Spare Room Subsidy

I would like to find out the following:


In the financial year 2013/14:

How many council tenants were in rent arrears during the year?

And of these arrears, how many cases were at least in part, due to the spare room subsidy?

How many council tenants were evicted because of rent arrears?

And of these evictions, how many were at least in part, due to the spare room subsidy?

In the financial year 2014/15:

How many council tenants were in rent arrears during the year?

And of these arrears, how many cases were at least in part, due to the spare room subsidy?

How many council tenants were evicted because of rent arrears?

And of these evictions, how many were at least in part, due to the spare room subsidy?


As of 11th June 2015, how many council house tenants in total have had their benefits cut because of the spare room subsidy?

And how many adequate properties are available on the council's social housing register as of the 11th June 2015?

How many council tenants were in rent arrears during the year?

Unfortunately we do not hold this information.


And of these arrears, how many cases were at least in part, due to the spare room subsidy?

As above unfortunately we do not hold this information.


How many council tenants were evicted because of rent arrears?

During the year 2013 to 2014 there were 6 evictions


And of these evictions, how many were at least in part, due to the spare room subsidy?

None of the above 6 evictions 1 was in part due to the spare room subsidy.

 

 

In the financial year 2014/15:


How many council tenants were in rent arrears during the year?

Unfortunately we do not hold this information.


And of these arrears, how many cases were at least in part, due to the spare room subsidy?

As above unfortunately we do not hold this information.


How many council tenants were evicted because of rent arrears?

Between April 2014 and end of March 2015 4 evictions were executed due to rent arrears.


And of these evictions, how many were at least in part, due to the spare room subsidy?

Of the above 4 evictions between April 2014 and March 2015 none of the evictions were in part due to the spare room subsidy.

As of 11th June 2015, how many council house tenants in total have had their benefits cut because of the spare room subsidy?

Between 1 April 2013 and 11 June 15, 135 tenants have had their eligible rent for Housing Benefit purposes restricted as a result of social sector size criteria.


And how many adequate properties are available on the council's social housing register as of the 11th June 2015?

The Council have 2498 rented properties within the stock, and as of 11th June 2015 we had 4 of these properties available for bidding on the choice base letting system. We also had two properties from other Housing Associations which we allow Council bidders to express interest in known as nomination rights. This brings the total to 6 available properties on the choice base letting system.
