I am awaiting a response to my FoI request in respect of advice to bus operators for routes on Lighting Up Day (November 29 2014).
I understand that by law, the authority should normally have responded promptly and in any case by 31 December 2014.
I trust that your response will be made as a matter of urgency on return to work after the New Year Holiday (the Christmas and New Year holidays cannot have come as a surprise to the authority).
Further to your email dated 29 November 2014 regarding the advice to bus drivers for routes on Lighting Up Brentwood on 29 November 2014 please find Brentwood Borough Council’s response.
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 I request all documentation for information on routes to be followed by all bus services diverted as a consequence of Lighting Up Day.
Please find attached map that was placed on all of the bus stops a week before the event to inform passengers and also sent to the bus companies.
Specifically I request all information on diversions sent to the operators of the 21 Townlink service, whether this was in the form of e-mail, advisory letter or telephone call log.
My colleague telephoned all of the bus operators before the event to confirm that they were happy with the main diversionary route as set out on the map. She specifically spoke to staff at Townlink on 30th October and notified them of the diversion route for Saturday 29th November. They were happy to use the main diversionary route William Hunter Way Route. The only company that requested an alternative route was route 81 along Ingrave Road. All bus companies were asked that this information be relayed to their bus drivers.
I also request any documentation in the form of letter, email or telephone call log of any response from the operators of the 21 Townlink service.
My colleague phoned Town Link today and spoke to Mario who confirmed that Town Link were fully aware of the diversion route that there buses should follow along William Hunter Way and they can confirm that they notified their drivers of the diversionary route.
I also request any guidance sent to operators on which routes not to use.
See above – the routes were agreed with the operators.
